Emphasis of Yoga

What is Yoga? > Emphasis of Yoga

Indian Yogis, for millennia, have attained the experience of the ultimate reality; and its independent entity, the individual self; both of them being identical, eternal, imperishable, changeless, beyond the range of mind and senses, beyond time and space, and also beyond the veiling net of causality. Yogis have explored not only the visible world-which belongs to the sphere of time, space and change - but also the hidden forces of life underlying the conscious human personality and the physical body.

Therefore, the concern of yogic philosophy has been not merely to provide information about the underlying basis of metaphysical principles, ethical values, and moral standards, but also to bring about a complete transformation of human nature on a spiritual basis. Its aim is not merely a renovation of intellectual understanding, but also a radical reintegrated of Yoga is not on the outer an ion of values and awareness at the core of an individual's existence. Development of a healthy body, pacified mental level and a purified soul is the emphasis of Yoga.
