One should be realistic in fixing one's specific objectives. An aspirant needs to humbly recognize his or her own shortcomings and requirements, and with sincerity and effort, preserve to achieve the modest goals. One should initially commit to a goal. A sincere and a regular effort leads to vibrant physical health and the development of extraordinary mental abilities. Those aspirants, who have not yet overcome passion, vanity, arrogance, selfish-ness, greed cravings, etc., are by definition incapable of attaining self-realization. They should be modest in assessing their potential and at the same time should sincerely try to transcend their weaknesses if they genuinely intend to progress further along the path. A true aspirant must possess all the prerequisite qualities that are absolutely indispensable for the practice of Yoga. The aspirant should have undivided longing and total dedication to attain freedom from the bondage of worldly existence. Finally the aspirant should possess the treasure of six precious virtues:
